City Of Miami Going Greener On Arbor Day CBS 4 - Miami,FL,USA
The volunteers planted more than 200 Gumbo Limbo, Mahogany, Wild Tamarind, Live Oak and Silver Buttonwood trees in the neighborhood. All of the trees are Florida native, drought-tolerant and wind resistant. The tree planting project is part of the city's Green Miami Initiative which was created to increase the city's tree canopy to 30-percent within the next ten years. The tree planting and protection campaign encourages neighborhood groups and individuals to plant and preserve our urban canopy. There is more information available at ourgreenmiami.org.
