Keeping Out the Emerald Ash Borer | WBNG-TV: News, Sports and Weather Binghamton, New York | Top Video
The Emerald Ash Borer is an increasing threat to Ash trees in New York State.
It's only about the size of a penny.
But within three years, it can take out an entire Ash Tree.
Biology students at Unadilla Valley High School tracked through Hunts Pond State Forest in New Berlin.
They're working with the DEC here.
"We took purple ribbons, like this, and we took the tags, and we tied them around every Ash Tree that we found to help people know that these are the trees that are being infested," said Unadilla Valley High School Senior Sara Rifanburg.
