West Wyoming once again named a ‘Tree City USA’ | The Pittston Dispatch, Pittston, PA


West Wyoming Borough was recognized as a Tree City USA for the second year at last week’s council meeting.

The borough’s Shade Tree Commission under the direction of Mary Pat Appel has been active planting trees throughout the municipality.
The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. Mayor Joseph Herbert issued a proclamation establishing May 9 as Arbor Day in West Wyoming. The borough celebrated by planting a tree donated by the Shission Family in Charney Park.
